Are you having foot or ankle surgery?

If you are having ankle or foot surgery, you will be instructed not to put weight your injured leg for 4-8 weeks.

This will mean being on crutches for 4-8 weeks whilst your injury recovers.

Some of the problems with crutches include:

  • Crutches take away the use of your hands

  • No use of your hands means being more dependant on others to do simple tasks for you i.e. carry a glass of water

  • Crutches are exhausting

  • Crutches can irritate arm pits

  • It is hard to open doors with crutches

  • Using crutches puts a heavy strain on your good leg, as well as your back, hips and arms.

Don’t despair as there is now an alternative………. A Knee Scooter!

A Knee Scooter

What is a Knee Scooter ? It is an alternative to crutches for injuries below the knee and the next best thing to walking.

Here’s why ………

Independence - a knee scooter allows you to do things for yourself and get back into life . Simple things like grocery shop , cook, carry a plate , open a door are all easily achievable.

Enjoyment - a knee scooter allows you to go out and do social activities like going to shopping mall, going for a stroll along beach or just going to the movies - all done with total ease.

Better Recovery - Having your foot/ankle elevated is the ideal spot for non-weight bearing injury to recover. Having your body weight balanced on the knee pad also allows you the rest of your body to function normally and reduces the chances of you falling and reinjuring your foot or ankle.
